Kearney's unbeaten football season rolled on Friday, Oct. 9, when the Bulldogs defeated Raytown South 63–6 on the road.

The win moved Kearney to 7–0 and sets up a home game against Grandview on Friday, Oct. 16, at 7 p.m.

Carter Temple led the passing attack with 197 yards and six touchdown passes before halftime, matching Anthony Pritzel's 2016 school record for touchdown throws in one half.

Kearney reached halftime ahead 42–0, leaving little doubt about the outcome.

Caleb Stevens gave the offense an immediate spark, catching a 38-yard touchdown pass on Kearney's first play from scrimmage.

He added a 28-yard scoring reception late in the second quarter, while Ian Sheller caught a 10-yard touchdown pass during the first quarter.

Luke Denston contributed in several ways, scoring on passes of five and 36 yards before returning a second-half kickoff 70 yards for another touchdown.

Cruise Emmons rushed for 96 yards and reached the end zone on a 13-yard screen pass and a 34-yard run.

The defense kept Raytown South's passing game contained, allowing just 23 yards on two completions.

Kyle Pritzel added a red-zone interception inside the 10-yard line.

Raytown South's touchdown came on Laurence Heath's 85-yard kickoff return in the third quarter, followed by an unsuccessful two-point attempt.

Brandon Johnson finished Kearney's scoring with a three-yard touchdown run.

The score tells a clear story, but the Bulldogs now turn toward the next opponent.

Grandview enters the Oct. 16 matchup at 3–4, giving Kearney another conference test as the regular season continues.

7 and 0 is a great start. Curious how Grandview's defense will match up with this offense.

42 to 0 at halftime says a lot about that first half. Nice to see the passing game getting results.

A 63 to 6 score is impressive, but I'd rather see them keep focused on the next opponent than get too caught up in being unbeaten.

Six touchdown passes in one half is quite a night for Carter Temple. Congrats on tying the school record.
